It’s time again to reflect on the past year, and let’s face it, this has been one for the books. From celebrity deaths that seemed to rule the news cycle up until the very last days of 2016 (#RIPCarrieFisher and #DebbieReynolds), not to be outdone by an election season that completely dominated everything from fake news to awkward family dinners, this year will be one we’re glad to see go.
Of course, it’s also the time to start fresh and look forward to a new year – 2017. On that note, some of your favorite HPRers did some thinking and pulled together their resolutions for 2017. Take a read, and feel free share your own in the comment section (better yet, tweet us)!
Deanna Haas – “Get on the phone more. Underrated skill in PR. I’m so used to communicating via instant message or text, but I think picking up the phone once in a while can boost your self-confidence and get things done faster.”
Brooks Wallace – “No procrastinating! Start and finish projects early, especially the least favorite ones.”
Monica Higgins – “At work: When I’m ready to leave for the day, cross two more things off my to-do list. It could mean I send someone that quick email response I owe them, or reading a handful of additional emails. At home: When I’m ready to go to bed, cross two more things off my to-do list. Write out a bill, unload the dishwasher, etc.”
Darlene Hollywood – “My resolution for 2017 is to keep no more than 100 emails in my inbox on any given day!”
Beth Gibbons – “My New Year’s resolutions for 2017 are spending more time with family, explore Boston/New England and read more!”
Kristen Venuto – “In 2017, I’m challenging myself to get out of my comfort zone more often, sticking to my fitness goals and vowing to always have a clean kitchen sink before going to bed.”
That’s a wrap on 2016, folks. Happy New Year!
