From the Publicist’s Desk: Darlene Hollywood, principal
Describe your role.
I lead an incredibly talented team of publicists in making brands famous. And that’s not kitschy, we take that mission seriously.
What industries do you work in?
A lot spanning both B2B and B2C. Whatever the agency is currently working on, I have at least a slight hand in it.
What’s your typical day and what are you working on right now?
The fun part about running the agency is that I get to play at a much more strategic level, not often getting mired in the weeds. I especially love participating in our group brainstorm sessions, trying to figure out how to help break through the clutter.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
Learning new businesses every day and seeing my team thrive.
What’s something about your job that you want people to know?
Knowing a little about a lot of things can be advantageous. I always say I believe companies come to agencies because they’re seeking objectivity and creativity. You can’t get that if you’re too expert in any one industry.
I’m Darlene and it’s my name on the door. For 25 years, I’ve worked with consumer, B2B, tech and not-for-profit brands to make them famous. As the principal, I help set the strategic direction for how clients’ stories are told and measured.
